The ideal lighting for indoor koi keeping. The flexBEAM LED spotlight in the "Koi Edition" features our unique COB LED, a proprietary development that not only preserves the colors of your koi but also helps faded fish regain their vibrant colors. For successful indoor keeping without natural sunlight.
Configuration options:
1. LED Power optionally with about 40W, 75W or 150W thanks to a powerful COB LED chip.
- Based on our experience, the 40W version is recommended for holding tanks up to 150cm in diameter, 75W up to 230cm, and beyond or for complete room lighting the 150W.
2. Beam angle / Lens
- Massive and easily interchangeable glass lenses offer a choice of a beam angle of 60° or 90°.
- Alternatively, for the 40 and 75 versions, a cover made of polycarbonate is available. This results in a 120° beam angle.
- Furthermore, the illumination depends on the height of the spotlight above the floor.
3. Reflector
Depending on the application, it is possible to use a
reflector screen. This additionally reduces scattering losses
and directs the light downwards.
4. Installation
- With suspension for mounting as a pendant light
- 40/75 variant with E27 socket: High-quality sturdy mounting set: E27 lamp socket (white) including mounting eyelet for steel cable 400cm power cable (2x0.75mm²) with Euro plug pre-wired (black). 400cm steel cable (2mm) with height adjustment and safety carabiner for suspension from the ceiling.
- 150 variant with E40 socket: High-quality sturdy mounting set: E40 lamp socket (white) including mounting bracket for steel cable 400cm power cable (3x0.75mm²) with Schuko plug (CEE 7/7) pre-wired (black). 400cm steel cable (2mm) with height adjustment and safety carabiner for suspension from the ceiling.
- Only E27 or E40 sockets, to use existing lamp sockets.
The difference between the flexBEAM "Koi Edition" with the unique Koi-COB LED and our standard flexBEAM aquarium lamps with SMD LEDs, lies mainly in the LED technology used. COB LEDs are more efficient and powerful, offer better heat dissipation and light quality. These characteristics make them particularly suitable for specific applications such as lighting for indoor koi ponds.
Our Koi-COB LEDs, however, are more complex to manufacture and as custom orders more expensive to procure compared to standard SMD LEDs, which are made up of many small individual LEDs. The additional investment in the "Koi Edition" variant with COB technology is justified by the unique light quality for this application. The COB chip of the flexBEAM "Koi Edition" was specially developed for its purpose in indoor koi keeping, aiming for color preservation and enhancement. Independent long-term tests by well-known importers, dealers, and private customers from the koi scene rate this spotlight consistently as "very good". In contrast, the SMD version of the flexBEAM was primarily designed as pure aquarium LED lighting. The focus of the SMD version is on planting or the natural illumination of the respective habitat. Experience regarding its use with koi is not available.

MORE DESCRIPTION
The spotlights feature an active-passive cooling system: Passively, the patented aluminum heat sink ensures necessary heat dissipation, actively cooled by a quiet magnetic fan.
A spotlight that is too tightly enclosed leads to insufficient cooling and overheating, resulting in a shortened lifespan. A heavily dusted environment can also lead to a shortened lifespan.
